Photographer • Conservation Storyteller • Founder of Art For Our Parks
Owner, Gypsy Eyes Photography

I’m Ashley Glasco, a photographer and conservation storyteller whose work is rooted in lifelong connection to the natural world. I’m currently a graduate student at Colorado State University, completing a Graduate Certificate in Wildlife Conservation Action and preparing to begin a Graduate Certificate in Communication for Conservation.

My love for the environment began early and continued through ten years of active-duty service in the U.S. Air Force. While military service may seem at odds with environmental stewardship, working on the airfield deepened my awareness of the landscapes surrounding our operations. During that time, I collaborated with USDA partners and practiced phenology for nearly a decade — long before I realized there was a name for the work I was doing.

I am the owner and photographer behind Gypsy Eyes Photography, where my work spans landscapes, wildlife, and rock climbing — documenting not only wild places, but the ways people respectfully move through and connect with them. Whether I’m photographing mountains, climbers on the wall, wild horses, or bighorn sheep, I approach each image as a conversation — one meant to foster connection, curiosity, and care.

After leaving the military, I completed a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and founded Art For Our Parks, a donation-based initiative connecting artists across the country who contribute a portion of their proceeds to national parks and conservation organizations. What began as a creative way to support conservation has grown into a platform that also includes sustainability resources for artists and a home for my independent conservation storytelling.

This work includes Stories of the Land, a growing collection of narrative conservation projects exploring wildlife, place, and responsibility. My first piece, Respect the Rut, was published with Planet Forward, with additional work forthcoming. Through both photography and writing, I aim to contribute ideas that help move conservation and environmental action forward.

As part of my commitment to stewardship, I donate a portion of proceeds from print sales, photoshoots, and licensing whenever possible, using my work to support conservation beyond awareness alone.
