2027 - 2028 Antarctic Artists & Writers - Polar STEAM (Antarctica)

Summary: Polar STEAM offers an artist fellowship for creative practitioners to engage with research and work in Antarctica during the 2027–28 field season. Selected individuals will participate in immersive field deployments supporting artistic, scientific, and interpretive work in one of the most remote environments on Earth.

PhotoVogue Global Open Call 2026 – Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion (Photography/Video)

Summary: PhotoVogue Global Open Call: Brave New Visions – Creativity as Rebellion invites photographers, video artists, and multimedia creators worldwide to submit work that challenges conventions, resists visual indifference, and asserts a strong creative position in response to the contemporary world. Selected artists receive cash grants and international exposure through Vogue platforms and exhibitions.

Notes: Open internationally to artists aged 18+. Accepts photography, video, and multimedia projects across genres including fashion, documentary, portraiture, and experimental practices. Open Interval: Artist–Scientist Exploration of Turbulence

Duration: April–December 2027 (collaborative research period)

Summary: $30,000 per selected trio (artist + scientist + arts organization). The Open Interval program by the Simons Foundation brings together trios of artists, scientists, and arts organizations to collaboratively explore the scientific concept of turbulence. Rather than focusing on producing finished artworks, the program supports long-term interdisciplinary inquiry, experimentation, and shared research across art and science systems.

Notes: This is a highly structured artist–scientist collaboration fellowship similar to Polar STEAM. It requires a complete trio (artist + scientist + producing arts organization). Projects are not pre-defined; instead, teams are selected based on their capacity for sustained collaboration and exploratory research. Eligible applicants must be based in the United States and able to meet in person during the program.
