Hike for Hope X Art For Our Parks
A Creative Fieldwork Initiative in Participation with the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada
A summer-long distributed fieldwork project bringing together artists across North America and Europe to document their connection to nature through experience, reflection, and creative practice.
This project is part of Hike for Hope, an initiative of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, encouraging people to connect with nature and take action for conservation.
—> Explore Hike for Hope:
Throughout summer 2026, participating artists from Art For Our Parks will engage in self-directed experiences in nature within their local environments.
About the Project
These experiences may include hiking, walking in green spaces, time in parks and accessible trails, paddling, and other forms of meaningful engagement with the natural world.
During and after each experience, artists will create:
Free-form journal reflections
Optional sketches, photography, and visual notes
Field observations documenting place and experience
These materials will be shared through a living Field Journal archive, published throughout the summer.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JANE GOODALL INSTITUTE OF CANADA
Hike for Hope is a national campaign of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall’s belief that hope is created through action.
